Women’s Professional Baseball League trying to get off the ground

Are you a girl with dreams of stepping up to the plate and playing professional baseball? Well, the time has come to chase those dreams!

Sara Rose Thibaut, a true Folsom native, is making history by representing the original players from the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. This Saturday, she’ll be throwing the first pitch at the Sacramento River Cats game, all in the name of promoting a new women’s baseball league!

Sara is one of 60 remarkable female players selected to be part of this groundbreaking journey, with teams bearing original names like Peaches, Comets, Belles, and Blue Sox. And mark your calendars because the second annual All-American Women’s Baseball Classic will take place in Sarasota, Florida, from Nov. 16-18!

For Sara, this is the realization of a lifelong dream that began at the tender age of 5. She’s ecstatic, saying, “It’s heaven. I feel like I’m in heaven.”

But this isn’t just about the games—it’s about proving that women can shine on the baseball diamond! The league is on a mission to secure sponsors and showcase the incredible talent of female athletes.
