Obituary: Inez “Lefty” Voyce
Inez Voyce, age 97, of Santa Monica, California, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. Inez was born on August 16, 1924.
Voyce was born in Rathbun, IA and graduated from high school in Seymour, IA. She attended business college at A.E.C. in Davenport, IA, in 1942 and 1943. She joined the Navy in 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Voyce primarily played first base in the AAGPBL from 1946 through 1953. She played with the South Bend Blue Sox in ’46, and she played the rest of her career with the Grand Rapids Chicks.
