Mary Weddle (Hines), 1934-2021

Mary Weddle (Hines), who played for the 1954 Fort Wayne Daisies of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, has died at 87, according to a post on the AAGPBL Facebook page by a daughter, Sheila.

Weddle, nicknamed “Giggles,” was a lifelong ballplayer and is part of the Women in Baseball permanent display at the Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, New York, that is dedicated to the entire All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.

Weddle died at home. She was diagnosed with cancer two and a half years ago, her daughter said.

Her family includes three children and five grandchildren, according to her Wikipedia post.
