Blue Sox Run Away with 13-2 Win
SARASOTA, FL, November 18—The Blue Sox scored ten early in their blowout win over the Peaches, but they didn’t need that many. Jaida Lee was dominant on the hill, striking out ten while allowing four hits and two runs in a six-inning complete game. Lee threw 100 pitches in earning the win.
Blue Sox shortstop Val Perez led the way, going 3 for 3 with three singles. Perez’ first-inning knock plated two and started the scoring against Peaches starter Jacqui Reynolds, but it was the second inning that turned this one into a boat race: the Blue Sox plated eight. Ashton Lansdell’s deep double to centr scored two in the frame. Lansdell scored three runs in the game.
Celicia Wilken and Luisa Gauci each drove in runs for the Peaches, and Alyssa Zettlemoyer contributed three innings of solid relief in the loss.
The Blue Sox are now 2-0 in the tournament, while the defending champion Peaches fall to 1-1.
