Behind Padgham’s Gem, Belles Win 10-0
SARASOTA, FL, November 18—Raine Padgham’s efforts on the hill proved to be the difference for the Belles in this afternoon’s game, as she tossed five innings in a run rule-shortened 10-0 win over the Comets. The Canadian righty allowed four hits and struck out three while issuing only one walk.
The Belles scored twice in the first inning before exploding for five in the second, effectively salting the game away. Padgham drove in a pair on two hits, including a double, and Oz Sailors crushed a double over the center fielder’s head in the bottom of the fourth to drive in one of her two RBI on the day.
Padgham (pictured) was credited with the win in the complete game effort, while Jess Leonard took the loss for the Comets.
